Invest in some freezer containers and whatever you make, freeze a portion or 2 - like chili/soups/stews - label it with masking tap + sharpie including what it is and the date - and you will slowly build a stockpile so you don't have to eat the same thing over and over again. ![]() I always make extra and eat leftovers the next day as home fries with eggs or make it into a quick curry. I LOVE slow cooker baked potatoes - wash and poke potatoes with a fork - individually wrap each one in foil (you don't have to but it makes clean up easier) and stick in the slow cooker and set for low and leave for work - when you come home you have awesome baked potatoes. Black beans are a great beginner bean and chickpeas from dry are amazing! You can save them in the liquid and freeze them for later use. If you eat beans at all, cooking them from dry is super easy. Then, set that bitch on low and come home to delicious chili. Now you get to decide how thin or thick you want your chili: add 1 cup of water and 1 beef bullion cube as desired. Same deal as with the veggies: once the meat is mostly done, 1tbsp cumin, 2tbsp cayenne, 2 tbsp paprika, 2 tbsp chili powder, 1/2 cup brown sugar go in, cook all the liquid out, put it in the pot. You want to brown your meat as much as possible so it doesn't lose its integrity while it's cooking all day. Once those are done and in the pot, get your pork and beef in a medium high/high pan. Really cook as much water as you can out of the veggies, concentrate those flavors. 1tbsp curry powder, salt, pepper, your fresh garlic, maybe tumeric to taste. Your bacon should be drained enough by now, it goes in the pot too.īy that time, your veggies are ready for a dose of flavor. While that's going on, get your beans in your Crock-Pot.
